IN SUPPORT OF THE PEOPLE OF JAPAN

It is with great sadness that we witness what has happened in Japan. The BC kendo family would like to express our support to the people of Japan and to our local members who have connections there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. And to the countless kendo friends that have visited us from Japan, we are especially thinking of you and we know that your strength will overcome this tragedy.

On behalf of the British Columbia Kendo community,

David Chiu
President, BC Kendo Federation

The British Columbia Kendo Federation is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization with a stated mission to promote and support the development of kendo in British Columbia.

Our member dojo enjoy excellent cooperation and many common benefits arising from their joint efforts. The BCKF hosts several tournaments and workshops on an annual basis and coordinates kyu grading for all clubs in the province.

The Federation also offers common services to the membership including group liability insurance, inter-federation communications, special events coordination and fundraising.

Kendo has a rich history in B.C. and the BCKF is working hard to build on that foundation to ensure a strong future.
