Taikai (Competitions)

The BCKF currently organizes the following Taikai:

Junior Taikai

We sponsor an annual junior taikai as part of our commitment to youth development. Along with the standard bogu divisions there is a non-bogu division for kids to demonstrate basics in a competitive environment.

Women's Taikai

The first event was held in the summer of 2008 and we plan to hold another in the spring of 2010. It is our desire that this becomes an annual event.

Mudansha Taikai

An annual taikai for senior kenshi who are shodan or below. The event includes a non-bogu division, individual non-kyu, 1st-kyu, shodan and team competitions.

Yudansha Taikai

This is our annual Senior BC Championships featuring a first round pool system similar to the World Championships and the team division follows the kachi-nuki format.
