Ray Murao, 7th Dan
Head Coach

Murao Sensei has practiced kendo for more than 45 years. He is the current Head Instructor of the Steveston Kendo Club. He has attended 12 of the past 14 World Kendo Championships: 7 times as a National Team Member and 5 times as coach. He enjoys working with motivated and serious kendoists.
Takashi Yamada, 5th Dan
Assistant Coach

Yamada Sensei has been practicing kendo since the age of 5 at the Vancouver Kendo Club. He has participated on the National Team at two World Kendo Championships in Glasgow and Sao Paolo. He has also trained for a year in Japan with the Waseda University Kendo Club.
Maya Taguchi, 5th Dan
Assistant Coach

Taguchi Sensei has practiced kendo for more than 25 years. She is a three-time national champion and current North American women’s champion. She has also represented Canada four times at the World Kendo Championships and was most recently the captain for the 2009 women's team.
